Functional fillers in welding electrodes
The addition of cellulose and vegetable-fiber materials to weld electrode coating mixture is one of the oldest uses of functional fillers. Their combustion as inert additives in the welding process produces carbon monoxides - protective gases that protect the weld from oxidation. Depending on the type of electrodes used in the amount of 2% to 40%.
As fillers for welding electrode sheaths, cellulose and wood-fiber materials protect welds from oxidation.
Recommended grades: M120, M140.
